
One of the most important cultural icons of the 70s, David Bowie managed to reinvent himself time and time again throughout his career. Whether he was the androgynous Ziggy Stardust, or the any of his other flamboyant personas, what made Bowie great was not these alter egos he created, but the music he was able to invent.
Everything from folk rock, to glam rock, to psychedelia, to grunge; Bowie was able to succeed in so many different musical genres. Plus, his voice is hauntingly cool. Oh right, and the fact that he had a cameo in Zoolander makes him a star in my book.
